Safety is as simple as ABC

– Always Be Careful –

  • Riding hats to current British Safety Standards must be fastened and worn at all times when riding or handling horses
  • Back protectors to current British Safety Standards must be worn for jumping and are highly recommended for hacking
  • Dogs are NOT permitted
  • Umbrellas do frighten many horses and for this reason we do NOT allow them past our main gates (sorry if you get a little wet but safety of our riders is a priority)
  • Do NOT feed any of our horses – some are on specific diets and have allergies, if you wish to bring a treat for the horse you have ridden please ensure you hand it to a member of staff and they will put it in that horse’s feed bowl.
  • Smoking is NOT permitted anywhere
  • Children must NOT be left unsupervised. If your child has a lesson you must come to reception to let us know your child is here
  • NO shouting or running
  • You are welcome to stay and watch a lesson but please refrain from distracting the riders. Anyone making too much noise or disturbing a lesson will be asked to leave.
  • Flip flops and open toed sandals are NOT permitted anywhere near the horses or on the yard
  • Shoulders must be covered for riding (no vest tops)
  • Hat Hire – you may hire one of our hats whilst you are deciding if you enjoy riding for £2 but you must purchase your own as soon as possible.
  • Riders are NOT allowed to ride in skirts or shorts
  • Riding boots MUST be worn
  • Pushchairs are seen as scary objects to some horses please check with staff before moving by our arenas – pushchairs are NOT permitted in the stable blocks
