Jo is a registered BHSAI and has been teaching here at Silvermere Equestrian Centre for 4 ½ years.
With 18 years riding experience behind her, and total commitment to the sport she has become an accomplished and successful rider in all 3 disciplines riding her own ponies from the age of 6 in showing classes to the national senior BSJA circuit riding her own novices to grade `A`s for several owners.
From the transition through Pony Club achieving the much sought after `AH` test (the highest test of horsemanship in the PCUK) to having the privilege of training in Germany in 2004, by invitation, with Nations Cup showjumper Hauke Luther, Jo has developed not only her own style but a passion for teaching. Jo has an exceptional ability to instil confidence, delivering information in a way that develops an effective tutor/pupil bond – an essential factor for progress. She has a sharp eye for detail and a array of techniques to correct rider weakness areas in riders of all levels. The importance of rider position and its influence on the horse`s performance inspired her to set up her `Video Position Workshops` which we run here regularly at Silvermere and have been a great success.
Jo also offers riding and stable management sessions here at Silvermere should you be a complete beginner or working towards BHS exams.
Lara along with the help of husband Jon and parents Ken & Judy set up Silvermere Equestrian Centre's riding school in 2005 when her little girl was only 2 years old. Lara used to compete in working hunter classes and x country in her teens and then decided to get back into horses after motherhood. Lara & Jon sold their house to set up the business and are extremely proud of the fine quality riding school it has become.
